What is Floodplain Management?
Floodplain Management is the operation of a community program of corrective and preventative measures for reducing flood damage. These measures take a variety of forms that generally include zoning, subdivision, and/or building requirements; and special purpose floodplain ordinances from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

If you are thinking about building in the City of Ocala, then you need to learn about proper permitting through our Building Department. We also offer FEMA Elevation Certificates on most buildings constructed or substantially improved since 1991.
