OCALA, Fla. (April 15, 2021) – The Ocala Wetland Recharge Park will remain closed through Monday, April 26, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to repair a subsurface subsidence that manifested Tuesday, April 6. The park is expected to reopen Tuesday, April 27. Hours of operation are sunrise to sunset.
"The Ocala Wetland Recharge Park is currently closed to address the remediation process in water cell three," states Sean Lanier, City of Ocala Engineer. "This open water cell is currently under repair and is being fully excavated and re-compacted to provide a new, and more stable, surface and subsurface. This process will help minimize future occurrences."

Subsurface subsidences are an anticipated component of the park due to the karst topography below ground. They present no danger to the public or the environment.
